Poreč Teran trail biking - half day trip

Overview

This tour starts and ends in Poreč. Passing blue and green lagoons we reach Vrsar a typical Mediterranean town situated on a hill.Continuing further on the trail through protected landscape of Kontija forest which will take us all the way along the Lim bay to Kloštar village passing by the pirate cave. After Kloštar village we'll continue cycling through Dračevac village and following the road through vineyard we'll reach our start point Poreč.

Facilities

This bike tour starts in Poreč.After a short tour of the city we continue along the coast towards Vrsar, passing throught Funtana and turistic camps around the bays along the sea.Vrsar is typical mediterranean town situated on a hill, right od top is the beutiful sightseeing spot from where you can enjoy the Vrsar archipelago.Continuing further on the trail through protected landscape of Kontija forrest which will take us all the way along the Lim bay to Kloštar village passing by the pirate cave.In Kloštar is located a dominican monstery founded in the 9th centuary.Leaving Kloštar behind us we proceed towards the villages of Gradina, Montižana and across Delići and Gradina reach Dračevac.Just near Valkarin are three hills known as Picugi, one of the major settlement of the Histri.From there we head towards Poreč, on the the road between the wineyards and reach it.

    What is the food like?
    Breakfasts are generally buffets that take your active program into consideration with a variety of low-fat and high-nutrition choices. Lunch is generally on your own, although some groups tours decide to pool funds on some days and enjoy picnics en route
     
    How far in advance do I need to book?
    We suggest you book as soon as your plans are finalised as Istria is extremely popular over the summer months.

    When is the best time of year?
    Traditionally April, May, June, July, August, September, October have always been the most popular time of year because the weather is better.

    How busy are the roads?
    The beauty of cycling in Istria is that the roads are generally very quiet. Our tours are planned on local roads with some short connections on main roads but generally the cycling is relaxed and traffic light.
     
    What happens if I can’t cycle a stage?
    We use local taxis to transfer your baggage and they can normally move you, your bike and baggage to the next stop in case of emergency. Local buses can also sometimes take bikes.

    What is the size of the group on a guided tour?
    We usually take between four and twelve guests on each guided tour. If we have a larger group, we'll have additional leaders so that we can split up if necessary. With this size of group, we can cater for individual needs and still ensure the whole party is well looked after.

     
    How knowledgeable and experienced is the Group Leader?
    The local guides undergo extensive training in all aspects of travel in the region. They are full-time professionals and are selected for their empathy and knowledge of the area you are visiting.
